I have a fantastic pram that I am really happy with. But I am looking for a good quality stroller that I can use for short shopping trips that is easy to get in and out of the car etc. My baby is almost 9 months.
Features that I require are:
* compact when folded (to fit in my tiny car)
* very comfy for baby as my son is very fussy and hates sleeping in his pram
* large shopping basket
* light weight
* suitable to use when he’s a toddler
Other features that I would like but aren’t essential:
*reversable handle so baby can face me
At the moment I’m looking at a Valco Milan Stroller. Has anyone got one of these or any of the Valco range?
we have the maclaren volo; it’s wondeful, and it fits all your needs except a big basket, but you won’t find that on any umbrella type stroller i have seen; they sell an accessory thing that hangs from the handles that u can put stuff in as well as drinks; my dd loves hers, it is mostly mesh in the back, so cool for summer and they make liners for them for cold months; and it folds and locks easily with one hand and has a carry strap as it only weighs 8lbs…and it will fold with the acc bag/cup holder attaches….we had a cheap one that babies r us gave us free, and it is the difference between a yugo and a mercedes…..i love it…highly recommend…hth

I have a 3 year old and a 7 month old. I am considering selling the travel system I got with my first daughter and buying a nice in-line double stroller. i think it will make my shopping trips and such much easier since my 3 year old still can’t keep her hands to herself and also likes to twist out of my grasp and run off. I’m wondering though, how long can I expect for her to reasonably ride in a stroller? I was thinking until she was 5 or so…and maybe just now and then when she’s tired of walking. What do you think? Also, I have an Eddie Bauer Travel System, how much do you think is a reasonable price to ask for at a garage sale? It is in excellent condition- no rips or stains, I just need to clean up the cup-holders and such first. Thank you!
P.S. This is the stroller I was considering! http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=3692932
I also see that there are sit and stand strollers… would this be something I would get longer use out of? I’ve never seen one of these… can they sit or stand by folding, or does it need to come apart?
Go for it! Even if your daughter is 3 I think she is still eligible for a stroller. It is what you are most comfortable with and if she absolutely hates sitting in the stroller and wants to be out and run off just put her in the front seat if you are going to get the stroller you said you were considering. This will let her get a better view of her surroundings and let her touch things in her reach. If I was a curious 3 year old I would like that more than being trapped in the back.
For the price
If it is still in great condition I would say maybe 50-maybe 100. Check to see how much you paid for it and remember it is a garage sale. If you paid for example 150 i would say anywhere between 75-100 is ok. Also remember to make a double check that there is absolutely no damage to the stroller.

I looked on their website, it doesn’t say either way. just trying to plan my trip. thanks
Yes you can bring you own stroller. They will not allow food items within the park, but you obviously can eat them at you car in the parking lot.

My friend’s child has some special needs, and needs a stroller to go on long walk, or long trips-despite the child is 4.5 yrs old. Right now my friend has a regular umbrella stroller but it’s getting too small and it’s a bit broken,so she’s looking for a different one. She was asking me and Im asking YOU!
Because aside from the big travel system strollers, my children only used the light umbrella ones and that was it! Her child is almost 40lbs but they’ll still need a stroller for another year…
So do you guys have any suggestions? Just looking for lightweight strollers, only requirement is that is HAS to have a canopy to protect the child from the sun, and maybe that’s not too expensive…
Thanks!
Thanks! But the Graco is only to 40lbs!
I really love our Maclaren stroller. Our son is 2 and around 34 lbs. and it’s still holding up well. We have the Volo which can hold up to 55 lbs. so it has a higher weight limit.

I was offered a Graco snugride baby carrier and wondered if I could use it with my Evenflo stroller. Does anyone know? I will check it when I visit my friend but thought I would ask before I made the trip.
When I tried it, it latched but wobbled, so it does not work well. Thank you! I am getting the seat from someone I completely trust, so I am comfortable with the seat.
Nope. they hook on and come off in different ways. You could swing by a Walmart to check, you wouldn’t have to go wherever the actual seat is. However….
Its actually unsafe to get a used car seat unless it is coming from a trusted friend or relative and you are 100% positive:
1)it has never been in any wreck
2)it has all the original pieces, including manual
3)it has never been dropped, which means never been checked as luggage at the airport, either, since this frequently happens when checked or gate checked .
4)it is less than 6 years old
5)the straps have never been completely submerged or washed with anything other than mild soap(it messes up the flame retardent treatment)
If you wouldn’t trust the seller with your child’s life, don’t buy a car seat from them. For $40 you can get a Cosco Scenera from Walmart. It rear faces to a whopping 35lbs, which is important b/c kids should stay rear facing as long as possible, the American Academy of Pediatrics says keep them rear facing preferably for their first 2 years of life. Then it goes to 40lbs front facing. It won’t last child as long forward facing as some others, but for $40, its a great deal. Or, call your local police station and ask about car seats. Most have programs in place to give free/inexpensive car seat to families that need them.

we need a TALL (dh is 6′5") umbrella stroller. we have a large quattro tour but it’s a PITA to put in the car for every trip. canopies are also super important to me!
1. whats the difference between the mac triumph and quest? i can find the triumph cheaper $110 and it has a better pattern than the cheap quest $160
2. do i relly need an umbrella that reclines for weekend shopping trips?
3. does the aria fold small enough to be compared to the umbrella strollers when it comes to fitting in the trunk.
4. does anyone have an umbrella peg perego like the pliko? it seems like as they age the lock stops working and you have to fiddle with it
5. will my husband kill me if i buy another stroller?
Buy the cheapest one available. All umbrella’s are alike IMO. You are paying huge premium for bells and whistles. Kids find them all quite comfortable. Put the difference in child’s college fund. They’ll thank you later.

He is due next month and I want to take a camping trips with him a soon as possible. We usually do backpack camping so a sling or wrap is ideal for the lightweight fabric. I live and camp in Texas so something that won’t make him overheat is needed. While there won’t be any real climbing, a stroller would not be useful for our favorite places.
