It is hard to imagine a more exciting, magical, and eagerly anticipated vacation than a Disney theme park adventure.
And because the prospect of the trip is so exciting, the planning process can be half the fun. Here is how to get started planning the trip of a lifetime, for a lot less than you might think.
Order Your Free Disney DVD
One of the first things you will want to do is take advantage of the free Disney Parks Vacation Planning DVD. This official Disney DVD takes you on a complete tour of both resorts. Go inside the parks and get an overview of the Disney complexes in both Florida and Southern California. Preview the water and roller coaster rides and get tips on where to go and what to do. The DVD also features planning guides, information on affordable places to stay, things to do, and upcoming special events. You can order it on the official Disney Parks website. (Simply do a Google search for “Free Disney Vacation Planning DVD.”)
Hotel Deals
The second thing on your list will be to find the best Disneyland and Disneyworld hotel deals.
Keep in mind that you will pay lower prices on both lodging and park tickets if you book your trip during the off season, which runs from October through April.
Disney resorts have a number of on site hotels, which bring lots of advantages, including discounted ticket prices and, of course, convenience. But the experience of staying in a resort hotel comes with a price: as much as triple the cost of other hotels.
If cost is the foremost consideration in planning your Disney vacation, begin an online search for hotels near the resort instead. Many of these neighboring hotels offer comfortable, clean lodging and may provide a complimentary shuttle service to the resort.
Accommodations range from value priced to deluxe, with amenities to match. Make a list of the features that are most important to you and refer to them when deciding on a hotel. If you do not mind parking your car and walking instead of using the valet, or if you do not mind limited room service, then you do not need to pay more for a deluxe hotel stay.
The distances to and from the park can differ, so be sure to ask about the location of the hotel in relation to the park, as well as whether the hotel offers complimentary transportation, such as shuttle bus or monorail service. There are lots of choices and you can find many different package deals depending on your budget and preferences. The Internet has made it so easy to compare Disney area hotels (and their amenities) at a glance.
Saving on Meals
Disney does not allow you to bring food into the park. But you can save money by having breakfast before entering the park and eating dinner after you leave. Lunch prices tend to be quite a bit lower than dinner prices at the restaurants inside the park, so you can experience the magic of a meal in the park for less.
You will be permitted to bring in bottled water, which is much less expensive than buying sodas and bottled water inside the park.
More Disney Travel Tips
1. Some hotels and travel agents offer discounts to nurses, teachers and government workers, as well as AAA, AARP and Entertainment Book members.
2. Make sure to purchase your tickets before you get to the park, so you do not have to stand in line when you get there.
3. Read your tickets and passes and make sure you understand what you are paying for. Remember, too, that some rides have certain height requirements for children.
4. Walking the parks may be fine for the adults, but you may want to either bring your own stroller or rent one for your child.
5. If you have a child who is too small for a particular ride, take advantage of the Disney “Baby Swap” option. All you need to do is tell the attendant. When you reach the front of the line, one parent will be able to ride while the other parent holds the child. When the ride is over, you switch. That way, neither parent has to sit out.
6. The weather can be unpredictable so do not be caught off guard. Make sure to bring an umbrella, ponchos and some cool weather clothing. Plan ahead for rainy days by having a list of indoor activities you want to do in the area, as well, just in case of an extended downpour.
Though a Disney vacation may seem overwhelming during the planning stage, rest assured that a little bit of planning now will make for a more relaxed, memorable (even magical) vacation that you and your children will remember for a long time to come.

Am restoring a couple of vintage Baby Strollers….One wheel has part of the rubber tire missing…about an inch or so from the sides…Getting a replacement is all but impossible so is there anything I can use to fill in the gaps…some kind of silicone rubber????
I have to agree with Michael, given that they may have intrinsic value and sentimental value as well as monetary value. If at some point they are to become mere aesthetic, decorative pieces, then it hardly matters. I want to assume they will not actually be used as strollers, but I’ve been wrong more than once in my life.

I have seen several people with a double stroller, where one of the babies rides underneath- almost looks like they’re in the "basket" part. What are these called, I can’t find it anywhere.
It is Phil and Teds:

My husband and I have been looking for a baby stroller that can hold four, considering that I am pregnant with quadruplets. We got two sets of two seater strollers, but the days when he is at work I would like to have a stroller to fit them all. Can anyone share with me some websites where I can find them?
Thanks a bunch, Kerri
Hey Kerri! I am your girl for this one. Quadruplet strollers aren’t very attractive, so don’t get put off by that! Here’s a stroller that will make more sense when they are older, not so much newborns, but I’m expecting they won’t be going out much as newborns, anyway…
http://www.tripletconnection.org/runabout_strollers/index.html
This stroller is also great for when they are older, it’s more compact and not as industrial looking…

Here’s also a GREAT website basically narrowing down what you definitely need/don’t need…http://www.multiplebirthsfamilies.com/articles/post_q2.html
While they are babies, I would suggest asking the store that you got the car seats from for a standard quad stroller skeleton – it’s basically a stroller with no seats, intended for car seats to be clicked in.
Obviously, this isn’t cheap. Quads aren’t cheap but they’re heaps of fun. Email me for sure with any questions, quad sistah!

I have a two year old daughter, and a son that is due in a few months. I have been looking them up for the past two weeks and I just don’t really know that much about Double Strollers, so if someone has one that they love, or know of a good one, I would really appreciate your help!
oh and by the way, I need one that folds up pretty small. We have a honda accord SE so we are somewhat limited on trunk space
Schwinn with a pivoting front wheel is excellent–I just don’t know how small it will fold. You can get a good one for $75–maybe less at rummage sale or online. Just need to put air in tires now and then–but for babies it’s like a Cadillac ride compared to a boxcar.

Finding out that you’re pregnant is a very happy time. There are so many things to do like buying a crib, diapers, stroller, and much, much more!
Nine months seems like an eternity when you first find out you’re pregnant, but it really is not. There are so many milestones that happen and so much to do it will go by in a flash.
So you’re pregnant, what is a due date and when is it?
Your due date is the date that is given to you of when you can expect to go into labor. The dates are not usually very accurate. More often women go into labor with 2 weeks of the expected due date.
The most accurate way to determine a due date is when the woman knows the day of conception. This rarely happens so normally due dates are determined by using the 1st day of the woman’s last period. Normally the total gestation time is added to the 1st day of the last period minus 2 weeks.
Example:
The total gestation time is 40 weeks (9 months). If the woman’s last period was on October 1st, 2005, you would add for weeks to that date and the date you would have then would be July 1st, 2006. You take away 2 weeks from this date and you have June 15th, 2006. So your due date would be June 15th.
This method is called the LMP Method (last menstrual period).
Two weeks are taken away from the 40 weeks because it is said that women can ovulate within 2 weeks of their last period.
Another interesting way to calculate your due date is called Naegle’s Rule. As with LMP, Naegle’s Rule also uses the first day of your last period.
Calculate the 1st day of your last period.
Count back 3 months from that day
Add 7 days
This is another easy way to calculate your due date.
Ultrasounds can also give an expecting mother her due date. Ultrasound technicians use the ultrasounds to determine the baby’s age by looking at different body parts and organs.
There are also many online websites for expectant mothers that offer pregnancy due date calculators. These calculators often use the LMP method by asking you to put in the first day of your last period and calculating your due date from there. The calculators not only give the mothers a due date to anticipate, but can also be used to mark the different milestones of pregnancy.
For example:
the time when a baby develops organs
2nd trimester
3rd trimester
and your due date
In ancient times women used the different phases of the moon. When a woman suspected that she could be pregnant she would look at the moon and what phase it was in. Over time she would count how many times the moon was in that phase. At the 10th time the moon entered into that phase and the 10th period she missed, the woman would know she was due soon.
Dr. Naegle (with Naegle’s Rule) determined that the ancient way was also an accurate way to determine a due date since a woman’s cycle seems to follow by the moon’s cycle.
Although the ancient way is no longer used it normally came pretty close. Whether you want to calculate the moon’s phases or use LMP to calculate it, there are many, many ways to find out a round about date as to when your new baby will be born!

I’m wondering if there are any brands out there that will comfortably sit tall kids w/out being the extremely pricey ones.
I’m looking for one to fit a 43′ inch tall child
How tall are we talking about? My jogging stroller easily fits a 4-5yr old.. when I was at Toys R Us they all seemed to be the same size.
